My name is Elliot Silver, and I am the founder of Top Notch Domains, LLC, the company that owns and operates Newburyport.com. I am originally from Nashua, New Hampshire, and I have visited Newburyport, Massachusetts many times during the summer.
So... why Newburyport.com?
This is a question I am frequently asked, and it's a bit of a long story, which I will condense for easier reading! When I was in graduate school in New York, I learned about Internet domain names, and I became an investor in a variety of domain names. In 2007, I learned about geographic domain names, and I thought they offered a good opportunity to learn about a community and grow a business online.
In late 2007, an acquaintance of mine let me know he owned Lowell.com (which was undeveloped at the time), and I immediately bought it for $50,000. Yes - that is a heck of a lot of money for a domain name, but I have not regretted the purchase. After developing Lowell.com, I learned that Newburyport.com was for sale, and I purchased it, knowing that I would build a website that is similar in scope.
So... what's your plan for Newburyport.com?
In my opinion, Newburyport.com is the best domain name for a website with information about Newburyport, Massachusetts. Every day, people visit Newburyport.com to learn more about the city and its businesses. My goal is to provide everything a visitor would want to know about Newburyport, MA while connecting them with local businesses and organizations.
I think having an independently run website gives an unbiased look at the city, and consequently, visitors are more likely to trust the site. I will let the great local news outlets and the government websites worry about politics and breaking news stories. They're very important to the city and its residents, but that's not my focus.
Ultimately, I want Newburyport.com to be a resource for people who are looking to visit Newburyport or who are considering a move to Newburyport. I have learned all about the city of Newburyport, the people who make Newburyport unique, and the organizations that are making Newburyport one of the top vacation destinations in the Northeast, and I want Newburyport.com to be a part of it.

So... who are you?
I would call myself an Internet entrepreneur, and I own two companies which operate several websites in a variety of verticals and fields. I attended public schools in Nashua, and I went to college at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, PA. After that, I went to grad school at NYU, focusing on Direct and Interactive Marketing. I worked in corporate America for a few years, and I decided to start my own Internet companies.
I currently live in New York City with my wife who is in graduate school, and we share our apartment with our dog, Lucy. I am a die-hard Red Sox and Pats fan (although it hasn't been so "die-hard" these last few years), and I love visiting the art galleries and antique shops with my family.
