Maudslay State Park in Newburyport, Massachusetts is a 450 acre public state park that is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation. The Park is located on what was once the meticulously-kept Moseley family estate on the Merrimack River.
Maudslay State Park features 19th century gardens, meadows, huge pine trees, and beautiful wildflowers and flowering plants, including azaleas and rhododendrons that are at their finest during the late Spring and early Summer months. The Park is a beautiful place to visit just throughout the year.
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service manages the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Plum Island in Newburyport, Massachusetts. The wildlife refuge, which was originally opened in 1942, occupies a majority of the eight mile Plum Island barrier island. The primary purpose of the Refuge is to provide feeding, resting, and nesting habitat for migratory birds.
