Unnamed Colors & Patriots for American Vetrans

Unnamed Colors & Patriots for American VetransOn Sunday, April 26th, 2015, local band Unnamed Colors is teaming up with Newburyport’s Patriots for American Veterans Organization to present the second Homes For Our Troops Benefit Concert at the Newburyport Waterfront Par!  Unnamed Colors will perform from 1 – 4 PM in support of Homes for Our Troops.

Homes for Our Troops is a national nonprofit organization that helps build specially adapted, mortgage-free homes nationwide for disabled US veterans.  Not only do these homes offer a private environment for rebuilding and recovery, they also restore the freedom and independence our veterans lost while defending our country.  HFOT lets the veteran choose the location and continues to support them in the rebuilding process.  As of March 7th, 2015, HFOT has built 183 homes nationwide.  Learn more about their work at www.hfotusa.org.

Founded in Newburyport in 2013, Patriots for American Veterans Organization (PAVO) aids American veterans in our local community.  Whether it’s through organizing fundraisers and clothing drives, making regular “coffee, doughnuts, and raffle” visits to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans in Boston, or even running errands and shoveling driveways for veterans in need, PAVO is always looking for more ways to lend a helping hand.  In effort to garner local support for a veterans organization doing great work at a national level, PAVO has chosen to host a benefit for Homes for Our Troops once again.

Unnamed Colors is an original art-rock band out of Newburyport, MA.  Together they create a unique and inspired sound.  “They pour emotion from themselves into every song, capturing the audience from the word ‘go’” (Max Bowen, Boston’s Citywide Blackout).  When Frank Peluso, founder and president of PAVO, invited the band to play a benefit show last year, the band jumped at an opportunity to support a great organization in their own community.  This past October, Unnamed Colors and PAVO put on the first Homes for Our Troops Benefit Show.  It was so well-received that a second show was in the works the very next day.  Check out their music and upcoming show schedule at www.unnamedcolors.com.

The benefit concert is free, but donations are welcome.  All proceeds will go to Homes for Our Troops.  The rain date is Sunday, May 3rd.  Come enjoy a great concert for a great cause!
