Build Life Long Boating Memories Hassle-Free

You have probably heard a few nautical metaphors over the years, sayings such as, “A boat is a hole in the water that you throw money into” or “You know what boat stands for? Break Out Another Thousand!”  The funny thing is that most of the people making these statements are boat owners.  Now you are probably asking yourself, why would somebody want to have anything to do with something that they knew was a bad deal financially and seemed to cause them so much aggravation?

The answer is that the memories you make out on a boat with your friends and family are hard to beat.  Whether you enjoy a sunset cruise or trying to land the catch of a lifetime, boating/fishing is an activity that you are actually sharing the experience with the other people on the boat.  It is something that is tough to duplicate and for certain “boaters” these moments make the expense and hassle of boat ownership worth it.

If you talk to someone who owned a boat or grew up in a boating family, they will have a number of great stories to tell you, because these are the type of memories that will stick with you for a lifetime.

For me, there are memories like the time we were the only boat out and came across a pod of hundreds of porpoise, having whales so close to the boat that they sprayed us when they surfaced, catching my first tuna fish at age 18 with my father and best friend, those perfect days at Sandy Point and a number of nights where that sunset cruise was just what I needed.

Now, what if I tell you there is a way to get access to a fleet of boats and start creating memories with your family and friends for a fraction of the cost of ownership and none of the headaches.

Welcome to Freedom Boat Club!  Freedom Boat Club members get to enjoy the boaters’ lifestyle; we just offer them a more cost-effective and hassle-free way to experience it.  Our members receive access to a variety of different styles of boats and 100% of their time is spent out on the water.  There is no cleaning, no maintenance, no boat slip rental, no boat insurance to worry about; FBC is truly boating at its best.

The New Definition of Boat Club

When you first hear someone speak about his or her “Boat Club” you probably assume that this person is a boat owner. For years, the only way for someone to be able to enjoy the boater’s lifestyle was to save their money and buy a boat or, if they were lucky enough, had a friend or family member with a boat.

You may be surprised to hear that in today’s times not every “boater” is a boat owner. As is the trend in a number of different industries, boating now offers you a way to get behind the helm without the high costs of ownership. For automobiles, you have Zipcar. For private jets, you have NetJets. For boats, you have Freedom Boat Club.

FBC started operating with one location in Sarasota, FL back in 1989 and has now grown into the nation’s largest membership-based boating club with over 8,500 members in 82 U.S. locations.

FBC members enjoy a convenient and cost-effective way to get out on our local waterways and start making memories with their family and friends. When joining FBC, members receive unlimited access to a full fleet of boats and it only costs a fraction of what it would cost to own just one boat. The club offers a variety of boats including cabin cruisers, bow-riders, center-consoles and pontoon boats. FBC provides hands-on training with all memberships, so whether you are an old salt or totally new to boating, our captains will teach you all that you need to know to have a safe and enjoyable outing each time you leave the dock.

Our staff also handles all of the maintenance, washing and waxing, so our members spend 100% of their time on the water. Own the water, Not the boat!
