Shannon Burke is the Director of Advertising & Marketing for Farley's of Newburyport.

At Farley’s, we’re happy to offer everything from men’s casual sportswear to versatile suits, but one of our biggest sources of pride is our custom program. We’re passionate about providing men with clothing that will make them look and feel good. We have a staff capable of fitting anything from jeans to a suit, and our seamstress is as experienced as they get. Customer service is our forte.

We offer a custom shirt program through Individualized Shirts. We have a wide array of imported fabrics available that can suit any preference of color, fabrication or pattern – 140’s two-ply and Egyptian cotton in solids, patterns, pinpoint oxfords, chambrays, linens (tone-on-tones and patterns in stripes), checks and plaids. In addition, customers have the option of various styling features in a shirt, which is then crafted to their specific measurements. What’s unique about our program is the sheer range of options, allowing the shirts to be truly custom-made. Individualized Shirts is up to date with current trends and provides us with new swatches on a weekly basis. From the date of order, shirts are delivered in four to six weeks.

We’re also proud of our custom suit program, one of our most popular services. We use a variety of vendors, S. Cohen being a favorite. The program offers approximately 65 (both year-round and seasonal) fabrics per season and suits are available in an assortment of modern silhouettes. Patterns are produced by well-respected textile manufacturers such as Marzotto and Reda. This spring, S. Cohen continues to use fabrics by Ermenegildo Zegna, an Italian luxury fashion house that produces some of the finest fabrics in the world. New suit styles this season feature half-canvas construction, hemberg lining and improved trouser waistband and pocketing. Custom suit separates by S. Cohen are ready to ship in approximately two weeks. Complimentary embroidered initials on all custom pieces are available.

Farley’s of Newburyport is the place to go for all things Father’s Day. From Swiss quartz watches to UV-400 protected sunglasses to a bright pair of socks, we’ve hand-selected gifts that any guy would love.

Our Peter Millar line is stock full of clothes appropriate for a day on the links. The piece we’re most excited about is a navy-and-pink-checkered sport shirt made of a wicking material, perfect for hot summer days. Also available are polyester and spandex blend quarter-zips, spring sweaters and golf shorts. Peter Millar does a great job of coordinating colors and fabrics in various pieces, making it easy to create an entire outfit.

Our most popular and most classic line for Father’s Day is Tommy Bahama. With a motto to ‘make life one long weekend’, it’s no wonder that TB clothing is perfect for the coming summer months. Farley’s has an entire section devoted to this line – some of our favorite picks for Father’s Day include casual short-sleeve sport shirts and bathing suits.

Southern Tide carries everyday polo shirts in a variety of colors as well as a multitude of accessories. We have awesome surfboard boxers and traditional logo boxers in store. Pair these with a set of Southern Tide beer socks or koozies and a linen baseball cap and you have the perfect Father’s Day basket.

Farley’s has prepared for Father’s Day by stocking up on lots of new accessories and necessities. Some of our favorites include Harrison and Pike bracelets, Illesteva sunglasses (both mirrored and normal lenses in classic frames with UV-400 protection, handmade in Italy), Daniel Wellington watches (Swiss quartz watches with interchangeable strap options), Moonshine cologne (cool packaging and a manly scent from a small bottling company, EastWest Bottlers, out of Austin, TX) and Trumbull Rhodes ties and bowties (light, patterned pieces perfect for the spring and summer).

Farley’s of Newburyport Hosts Ball & Buck Event May 1st – 3rd

Farley's of Newburyport Hosts Ball & Buck Event

Ball and Buck is an all-American brand through and through. With a store located on Newbury Street in Boston, the company is passionate about emphasizing American quality over foreign quantity. These guys were born with red, white and blue running through their veins. A Ball and Buck customer is a guy who appreciates high quality things. He’s someone who doesn’t have a hundred pairs of jeans but wants one great pair. This is something Ball and Buck can provide – quality, made-to-last clothing that is modern but reminiscent of America’s roots.

Nothing is made outside of the United States – in fact, with manufacturing facilities along the East Coast, they make the garment you order in the factory closest to your home. Less time from the assembly line to you means less pollution to the environment, drastically reducing the company’s carbon footprint.

The second amendment, the right to bear arms, is stitched inside of every garment pushed through Ball and Buck factory doors. The company’s name comes from George Washington’s reference to shotgunning – the buck and ball method of loading muskets. Owner Mark Bollman drew inspiration for both his store, which is made complete with various antiques, massive leather sofas and a barbershop in the back, and his brand from hunting trips with his grandfather. One of the brand’s signatures is a sport shirt with a stitched in hunter’s shoulder.

Join us for an exclusive weekend of Ball and Buck clothing available at Farley’s of Newburyport. The trunk show will run Friday, 5/1 3-8pm; Saturday, 5/2 11-6pm; and Sunday, 5/3 12-6pm. Local brewery Riverwalk will be here for craft beer tastings on Friday and Saturday and local distillery Turkey Shore will make an appearance for killer rum tastings as well.  Learn more about Ball and Buck at www.ballandbuck.com.
