State Street South Live Cam Views
Want to follow the comings and goings in downtown Newburyport without leaving your seat? Then check out the Newburyport.com State Street South Live Cam now affixed outside Ganesh Imports. The camera provides a real-time look into what is taking place on State Street looking south towards High Street.
For 27 years, Ganesh Imports, also located in Portsmouth and Exeter, N.H., has been selling eclectic clothing, gifts and furniture from countries across the globe. Owner Bill Bixby travels exotic locales in India, Indonesia, Thailand, Nepal and other countries looking for items to sell in downtown Newburyport. In some cases, Bill brings back items for sale himself. Larger items are shipped separately. Regardless, new merchandise is delivered to the State Street store on a regular basis meaning that you can count of seeing new items each trip to Ganesh Imports. Named after the elephant-headed Indian god of prosperity, Ganesh Imports focuses mostly on BoHo sheik-style clothing. “But we try to have something for everybody if we can,” Bill said, pointing to the store’s wide range of gifts and crafts.
When presented with the idea of placing cameras outside his storefront, Bill said he jumped at the opportunity, calling it a nice fit for the store and a great way to promote not only his business but the downtown Newburyport shopping experience. “I just think it’s a neat concept — get on and see what’s going on,” Bill said. In addition to the State Street South Live Cam there is a State Street North Live Cam pointed in the direction of Market Square.
As a strong partner in the Best of Newburyport VIP Program, Ganesh Imports provides VIP Card holders a 10% discount off all non-sale items. Just present your VIP Card to take advantage of this offer.
