Cruisin’ the 50’s Classic Cars Drive You Wild
Newburyport’s Cruisin’ the 50’s classic car show will be held on Thursday, August 10, from 5 – 8 PM. Once per year, downtown Newburyport steps back into a time of past, transforming our historic downtown into a beautiful pedestrian walkway, lined with impeccably maintained vintage automobiles proudly showcased at this exclusive invitational car show.
This premier classic car show features an exclusive group of 250 specially selected cars from collectors who are invited to participate in the show. In past years, Cruisin’ the 50’s has featured some high profile vehicles such as the DeLorean that brought us Back in Time from the classic Michael J. Fox movie “Back to the Future.” Another past favorite was the 1948 black Delahaye, hand built in Paris, France and owned by private collector Bruce Male of Swampscott, MA. The Cruisin’ the 50’s Car Show becomes more popular each year and local businesses enjoy being part of the fun! This prior year video features a live 50’s band performing in the Newburyport Bank parking lot as car enthusiasts admire the amazing display of classic cars.
Cruisin’ the 50’s will have you indulging in one gorgeous vintage vehicle after the next, as you walk the historic streets of downtown Newburyport. If you’re not able to make it to this exciting event, enjoy coverage from our Newburyport.com Live Web Cams.
Cruisin’ the 50’s is a free event open to all and hosted by the Newburyport Chamber. Enjoy beautiful classic cars in the picturesque historic downtown, of Newburyport, MA. State Street, Pleasant Street and Inn Street will be open to pedestrians only and more stunning antique autos will be parked on surrounding streets as well. If necessary, Cruisin’ the 50’s will be moved to the rain date for this event, the following Thursday in August, 17th from 5pm until 8pm.
