Businesses and volunteers have come together to support Pennies for Poverty’s Music for Change fundraiser, which will take place on November 7th, starting at 6:30 at the Elks Lodge in Newburyport.
The music, headlined by EJ Ouellette and Crazy Maggy, and including Thomas Machine Works Band and Liz Frame will have the crowd tapping their feet and dancing. Ouellette is known for his creativity and passion with original songs and fiddle-driven rock tunes. Thomas Machine Works Band has been playing to enthusiastic audiences on the North Shore for 18 years. Liz Frame’s powerful voice has been hailed as compelling, original and the perfect combination of sultriness and directness.
Popular restaurants, including Michael’s Harborside, Oregano Ristorante, Loretta, Salt Kitchen and Rum Bar, Not Your Average Joes, Dos Amigos, Annarosa’s and Buen Sabor will provide delicious tastes from their menus.
Businesses, craftspeople, artists, and skilled vendors from throughout region have generously contributed items to the silent auction. Auction items include weekend getaway packages, Boston Celtics and Patriots tickets, gym memberships, cooking classes, restaurant meals, work by established artists, home decorating and landscape services and even a handmade quilt.
The evening will also include a raffle for a chance to win an evening of dining at the top of Newburyport Lighthouse – New England’s most private and unique dining destination. Named “the most Romantic and Exclusive Dining Destination” by Boston’s Phantom Gourmet.
Music for Change tickets ($25 in advance) are available online at MusicforChange.yapsody.com, at Dyno Records (1 Middle Street, Newburyport) or at Greetings By Design (1 Rear Water Street, Newburyport). Tickets will be available at the door for $30.
All proceeds from this event go directly to address urgent needs and underfunded programs at social service organizations that help those living in poverty in Newburyport and surrounding towns.
