The Festival will run from 11:30 am – 9 pm on Friday, July 27th and Saturday, July 28th as well as 11:30 am – 4 pm on Sunday, July 29th. I know I am not the only local resident who eats at the Newburyport Greek Food Festival three days in a row to get my fix of delicious homemade Greek food! You will be delighted by all the Greek entrees including gyros, lamb shanks, moussaka, chicken and lamb kabobs, keftethes (meatballs), spinach pie, pastichio, stuffed grape leaves, Greek salad as well as Greek pastries and more! You can purchase food to eat on the run, such as a Gyro, or you can take your time and sit down for a relaxing meal outside or inside the air-conditioned church hall. My recommendation to my fellow foodies, is not to wait until the last day of the Festival to visit, because some of the most popular items may be sold out!
For those of us who look forward to the Greek Food Festival every year, there is great news. The feasting does not have to end after three days! The Newburyport Greek Food Festival has expanded! The Annunciation Church Gyro Cart will be open from Monday, July 30th through Sunday, August 5th. Look for the cart on Inn Street and enjoy those gyros all week long during Yankee Homecoming.
While the Greek Food Festival is not an official Yankee Homecoming Event, many folks have made a tradition of savoring this incredible food as they kick off Yankee Homecoming week.
The Newburyport Greek Food Festival is a fundraiser for Annunciation Church and all of the food is prepared and served by church members. How many times will you visit the Newburyport Greek Food Festival and the downtown Gyro Carts during Yankee Homecoming to enjoy delicious homemade Mediterranean cuisine?
