Enjoy delicious and authentic Greek food at the Newburyport Greek Food Festival at Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church located at 7 Harris street in Newburyport as they celebrate their 100 Year Anniversary. The Festival will run from 11 am – 9 pm on Friday, July 26th and Saturday, July 27th as well as 11 am – 4 pm on Sunday, July 28th. I know I am not the only local resident who eats at the Newburyport Greek Food Festival three days in a row to get my fix of delicious homemade Greek food! You will be delighted by all the Greek entrees including: the famous Lamb Shanks, Moussaka, Pastichio, Chicken & Lamb Kabobs, Gyros, Loukaniko, Keftethes, Spinach Pie, Greek Salad, Stuffed Grapeleaves, and Fish Plaki (Friday Only). Coffee & Greek Pastries including Baklava, Galaktobouriko, Koulourakia, and more! Loukoumades (Fried dough balls with honey)
You can purchase food to eat on the run, such as a Gyro, or you can take your time and sit down for a relaxing meal outside or inside the air-conditioned church hall. My recommendation to my fellow foodies, is not to wait until the last day of the Festival to visit, because some of the most popular items may be sold out!
For those of us who look forward to the Greek Food Festival every year, there is great news. The feasting does not have to end after three days! The Newburyport Greek Food Festival has expanded! The Annunciation Church Gyro Cart will be open Friday the 2nd and Saturday the 3rd from 11 -7 and Sunday August 4th from 11-4, in front of the church.
While the Greek Food Festival is not an official Yankee Homecoming Event, many folks have made a tradition of savoring this incredible food as they kick off Yankee Homecoming week.
