Let’s get ready to Burn Baby Burn those well-loved Christmas Trees Greater Newburyport!

In honor of the original purchase of Newbury, MA in 1701, the 8th Annual Old Newbury Bonfire benefits the Newbury Volunteer Fire Department.

The event is held on January 12th, but if you’re interested in including your Christmas Tree in this community, 3-story bonfire you must drop it off by January 10th at either of the two Newbury Fire Department locations.

If you are a Newburyport resident, make sure to put your tree out by January 10th and Mello Disposal will transport it to the Bonfire. Please do not bag your tree and make all ornaments have been removed.

The 8th Annual Old Newbury Bonfire is hosted by Protection # 2 Newbury’s Volunteer Fire Company,  along with Historic New England and Tendercrop Farm.  Join your friends and family for music, games, food and fun at an event that is becoming a Greater Newburyport Winter tradition.

Take a tour of the 1690 Spencer Peirce Little Farm House, partake in a treasure hunt and enjoy great food and drinks from local businesses.

At 5 PM the auction for  the opportunity to be one of the two official bonfire lighters will be announced!  Other prizes include a ride to school on a fire truck, cords of wood, local art and more.
