In an historic brick and timber building in the heart of Newburyport’s downtown, Bar25 electrifies the mood with glass and brass chandeliers, comfy and contemporary seating, and bold original artwork. The mood evokes the Roaring 20’s…part prohibition speak-easy with a dash of Mediterranean exotic…the promise of a good time-out whether you’re reviving after a workday or enjoying a late-night bite!
Owner Reza Rahmani has built Bar25 around a menu unlike any other in Newburyport, and he is mindful of both the desire for novelty and dependable favorites that keep customers coming back. When the senses are stimulated with contemporary Middle Eastern flavors, the pleasure of dining out expands. Start with small plates (Mezze) where a touch of Persian pizazz accentuates familiar fare such as sliders and fries. Savory meats and freshly sourced ingredients are all prepared to order, and the wait-staff are an enthusiastic team who really know their stuff.
Bar25 has been featured on the Phantom Gourmet, where they’ve furthered the notion fine food can also be fun and bring people together. In warm weather, the patio features colorful awnings and string lights around tables that fan out towards the Inn Street courtyard. Of the indoor options, each of the three floors has a slightly different character, but the third level ES.CO.BAR offers the most intimate setting and has a VIP membership program. Membership privileges include priority reservations, special pricing to host private events, and even one’s own personalized decanter and glasses. The staff of Bar25 is happy to help coordinate special occasions and private events in addition to ongoing events open to the public.
Reza also owns and designed sin•a•loa, an authentic Mexican styled restaurant located in the heart of Salisbury Beach. Although the cuisines are completely different, both share a commitment to fresh, natural ingredients prepared in-house, and of course, the cocktail menus are are draw on their own. Bartlet Mall, a gorgeous historic park at the intersection of Pond and High Streets, is a great place for ice-skating, sledding, and enjoying nature. Its scenic views provide the setting for a wide variety of popular community events. There are wide walkways and a series of footpaths that border the Mall and lead to the Frog Pond. It has also become a highly photographed area by many local photographers.
