Plum Island’s Fresh Seafood Tradition

Bob Hartigan knows lobst-a…. and high quality fresh seafood.  As a commercial lobsterman for over 30 years, Bob started selling his catch out of his home basement back in 1982 and became so well known that no sign was needed.  The islanders always knew where to find him.  Bob and his wife Joyce opened Bob Lobster restaurant and fresh seafood market back in 2001 and their following continues to grown as folks discover this picturesque Plum Island destination.  Located diagonally across the street from the famous Plum Island Pink House, Bob Lobster offers both indoor and outdoor seating and is know for its beautiful sunset views over the Plum Island Marsh.

Although Bob sold his boat and gave up fishing a couple of years ago he still works hard to provide his customers top quality, local fresh seafood from the Island as well as other parts of the North Shore.  Joyce is the one responsible for running this very successful local operations.

Of course Bob Lobster is know for excellent lobsters, but they also serve delicious chowders, fried seafood, homemade crab cakes, salads and don’t forget to leave room for ice cream!  If you choose, you can BYOB at Bob Lobster.  Bring your favorite bottle of wine, enjoy delicious fresh seafood and the best atmosphere nature has to offer.

After you enjoy a wonderful lunch or dinner, make sure to pick up some high quality seafood to enjoy at home.  If you haven’t tried them before, Bob and Joyce’s “Crumby Toppings” are wonderful.  Bob’s is Ritz cracker based and Joyce’s version features delicious breadcrumbs, spices and Romano cheese.
