The Finest Kind is a Newburyport breakfast & lunch tradition for many locals. You’ll meet many customers who grew up dining at the Finest Kind and are now treating their kids to this cool Newburyport breakfast & lunch spot. If you haven’t been it is a must try!
The Finest Kind offers no frills decor but the artwork has great local history featuring works from local artist Herbie Crooks. Many years ago Herbie painted a personified painting of some hard-boiled eggs and bacon strips sitting at the diner counter enjoying their breakfast. At one point quite some time ago this painting mysteriously disappeared. The frustration of the missing painting inspired Herbie to paint an entire series of egg paintings, all of which can be found on the walls of The Finest Kind. Come check out all of Herbie’s cool “egg” paintings while enjoying a great meal.
