Newburyport's Candy Shop Tradition

A visit to “the candy shop” makes every downtown Newburyport visit complete!  Simply Sweet is a Newburyport tradition for decadent sweet treats!

Owner Wendy Smith has built a tremendous following over her many years in business.  Wendy got her start with another well know and highly respected local candy shop “Something Sweet” who has since retired.  She started Simply Sweet back in 2002 and has made it the Candy Shop destination for the Greater Newburyport area.

Simply sweet has something to make everyone happy, and they are know for the fact that much of the candy is handmade in small batches, helping to ensure the highest quality products.  What are the customer favorites?  The top choices are the handmade:  nonpariels, turtles, and bark but there are also many seasonal favorites too.

Try the caramel apples or what about hot chocolate shots?  Do you like to entertain?  Wow your guests by warming some milk and dropping in a hot chocolate shot.  They come in an assortment of flavors.  Hot chocolate shots are also a perfect house warming gift or party favor!

Check out the nostalgic section where you will find many fun old fashioned candy shop favorites.  Do bottle caps, candy cigarettes, pop rocks and candy necklaces bring back fun memories?

Simply Sweet is the place to go for gluten free, offering a great selection of gluten fee chocolates.  They are also the Newburyport destination for Vermont Nut Free Products.

If your not in route for a visit yet, can we tempt you with individual fudge cups available in four flavors, or the super colossal cashews?  Whether your passion is chocolate, or you prefer jelly beans, Swedish Fish and “the best gummies ever” Simply Sweet has it all!
