A Boutique Tile & Flooring Company
Tiles Gone Wild, a boutique tile and flooring company in Newburyport, carries an extensive selection of handmade, unique, and interesting tile. Their showroom displays thousands of samples of hand-glazed, glass, and vinyl tiles, as well as polished marbles, slates, travertine, ledger stone, porcelain, and even beautiful mosaics. Their claim to fame, though is their reputation as Newburyport’s tile experts because Chris Bates and his highly trained team have been providing top-quality products and services to North Shore customers since 2003.
Whether the target area is a kitchen, entryway, bathroom, mudroom, or fireplace, Tiles Gone Wild’s variety of hand-glazed tiles, sparkling glass, natural stonework, and luxury vinyl tile will turn it from a simple utility space to a fabulous feature.
What sets Tile Gone Wild apart is that they combine an amazing selection of top-quality products with outstanding customer service. Chris and his in-house designers will get to know your taste and help you find the perfect products that match your need and aesthetic. Team members, with their background in design, artistic vision, and love for all things tile, will take the time to explain your options to you and will help design your own unique dream space. That concierge-level attention is what makes the difference between a merely adequate plan and an exceptional one.
In 2003, Chris’ father opened Tiles Gone Wild, and Chris joined him soon after. He now has over 25 years of experience in the industry from installation to design and everywhere in between. Once his father Art retired in 2020, Chris took the helm, putting his vast experience to work for his customers. Tiles Gone Wild not only works with retail buyers, but also with many design firms and local contractors, as well. With access to some of the oldest Italian factories in the world to local handmade tile companies in New England, there’s something for everyone. Even with supply chain challenges, the vast selection offers many readily available options.
“We are not competing with Home Depot,” he explains. “We do have some basic tiles and excellent prices, but the quality of our products and personal service are what makes us different.” There is no substitute for expertise, so bringing an experienced, consultative approach to each customer’s needs is what Tiles Gone Wild provides. Every customer and project is unique, so a home’s tile should be unique, as well.
