Things to do in Newburyport
From the beach shores of Plum Island to the Clipper City Rail Trail and Harbor Walk, there’s no shortage of things to do in Newburyport. The Clipper City Rail Trail is a 1.1 mile multi-use path that runs from the MBTA to the Merrimack River shoreline near downtown. The Market Square Historic District is just one of the many Newbuyport treasures on the National Register of Historic Places. This district is comprised of federal style brick buildings. It’s also home to the US Custom House, which is a classical revival building. The Custom House is now the Custom House Maritime Museum, showcasing the maritime heritage of the Merrimack Valley. Plus, Newburyport is the Birthplace of the US Coast Guard. Things to do in Newburyport are full of rich history.
The Waterfront Park is another one of the popular things to do in Newburyport. Green space with benches allows you to relax and bask in the sun.
